Our History & Heritage

The method dates to the First World War, when sugar was scarce in France and preserve-makers sweetened fruit with concentrated grape must instead.

We still make it that way, in Marmande, in the Bordeaux region of southwest France.

The Morning Ritual

In France, fruit spread turns up on a cheese board as often as it does at breakfast. Ours is tart enough to hold its own next to an aged cheese.
